Time is money and money is time, they say. You can’t increase the hours in a day, but you can peak productivity with the help of apps. Love it or hate it, apps are dominating today because many advertise saving time. Yet there’s so many out there, it’s hard to tell which will actually make your life easier. Do it right, and you’ll be more productive, organized and in touch with what’s going on.
We’ve done some digging, and here are 6 apps really worth downloading, getting to know, and bringing into your business. Still not convinced? They’re all free! You have nothing to lose. Except for time, of course…
We all love Google Maps, but how many times did it lie to you about traffic updates and made you late to the office, or even worst, a meeting with a customer? Waze is the solution. This community-based app gives you real-time traffic and road updates, so a traffic jam will never make you late again. Bonus: no more money wasted on gas. That’s a win-win if there ever was one.
2. Genius Scan
This app totally blows scanners out of the water. Okay, this probably won’t work if you scan 50-page documents only, but it’s brilliant for those itty-bitty, just-a-few-pages documents. Download this app and turn your phone into a portable scanner. There’s really not much more to add, except for GET IT! GET IT!
All paper documents are going digital, which makes it really inconvenient when we need to sign a document. Imagine the almost maddening task of receiving a digital document, having to print it to physically sign it, to then re-scan it into its original digital form. Now, imagine it gone. With Docusign, everything is digital, from the names to dates to the handwritten signature. Alright, there is a catch, it’s only free for 30 days. But do give it a go for that time, and in our experience, it’s been worth the trouble.
Honestly, they had me at their slogan: Expense reports that don’t suck. This app allows your employees to record and scan their expenses, while you get to approve them with a click, or thumb bump if you’re on your smart phone (you cool cat). Expensify has so many brilliant functions that summarizing them here would just butcher the app’s magic, so heading to their website is best. Again, a bit of a free trial situation here, but give it a whirl and don’t forget to give us feedback on your thoughts.
Emails in the workspace are dead. No, really. You can forget Facebook Messenger, texting, and whatever other platform you and your work friends (read: colleagues) like to use. Slack is a chat-like platform, accessible from all devices and even online. You can split chats by teams and departments and then within those, organize them into different projects, conversations and the likes. Hashtags are key in this system, so it was love at first sight for us.
6. Gata Hub
Ok friends, give us a little credit. We love our app. As a business, you want your customers to have the best experience, right? Part of that is being available to them as much as possible, and Gata Hub let’s you do that through the chat feature. This goes both ways, as you can give them real time updates. No more phone call tagging, no more texts from unfamiliar numbers.
